Barrett Firearms has announced the return of their REC7 DI (Direct Impingement) AR-15 patterned rifle with a nod to Stoner yet touting some modern accoutrements. Barrett states on their website that this rifle has “a nod to Eugene Stoner and his direct impingement design, [and] Barrett is proud to produce the REC7 DI.”

The newly re-introduced REC7 DI is meant to be lightweight, modular, and accurate – all the tenants of what discerning shooters are looking for in a modern sporting rifle. It also boasts Magpul furniture throughout, an attractive yet simple finish, and a free-float M-LOK compatible handguard for all manner of accessories. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, its upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, while all aluminum components are coated in Type 3 hardcoat anodizing.
Featuring a cold hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel, Magpul® furniture, ALG QMS trigger, and extended slimline Barrett handguard with M-LOK® accessory mounting slots, no detail has been overlooked in the pursuit of excellence.
