Altercation During Home Invasion Leaves One Man Dead

CERES, CALIFORNIA — A home invasion involving multiple armed suspects has left one man dead.

According to a report by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning on September 27th. The home invasion took place at a home in the 2600 block of Gondring road in Ceres. 22-year-old Christian Sanchez was found with at least one gunshot wound at the location by responding deputies. He was transported to a local hospital after receiving aid by deputies but was later pronounced dead.

Deputies were advised by the residents that they were awakened to an altercation taking place between the suspects and a resident who discovered the intruders. Shots were fired during the altercation and the suspects fled the location.

Sheriff’s officials have not revealed if Sanchez was a resident or a suspect. Sheriff’s officials are requesting anyone with information to contact them at 209-567-4466.
